Review: Torn (Torn Trilogy #1) by Erica O'Rourke

Summary-
Mo Fitzgerald knows about secrets. But when she witnesses her best friend's murder, she discovers Verity was hiding things she never could have guessed. To find the answers she needs and the vengeance she craves, Mo—quiet, ordinary, unmagical Mo—will have to enter a world of raw magic and shifting alliances. And she'll have to choose between two very different, equally dangerous guys—protective, duty-bound Colin and brash, mysterious Luc. One wants to save her, one wants to claim her. Which would you choose?

Review-
When I picked this book up, I was expecting the same ole story about the magical elements. However, what I found was in no way the same played out story. It has a very unique storyline. Magic & secrets & mystery fill the pages. I really like the way it's not totally rooted to one realm or the other. It has a real sense of balance about it. The main character is not magical in her own right, but made so through the gifts of others. That was a very nice twist. It was refreshing to read a magic story not the same as the rest. This author did a wonderful job of weaving both worlds together. Throw in a couple "Hot" guys and you have a very fun read. I hope to read more from this author.
